School Counsellor/Chaplain

    • POSITION PURPOSE

      The position is responsible to provide pastoral care, religious services, guidance and counselling to support the spiritual and emotional welfare and wellbeing of students and teachers.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      The position will achieve its purpose through the following key responsibilities.  Working with relevant management and staff, in accordance with guidelines, policies and legislative requirements, meeting the operational needs of the MoEHA:

      1. Conduct daily devotions for school functions, staff gatherings and student fellowships.
      2. Provide pastoral care and support to students and teachers, attending to emotional issues through presence and attendance, and referrals.
      3. Provide ongoing counselling services including promotion of proper behaviour, health and wellbeing, career counselling, moral support, and compliance with the schools code of conduct.
      4. Design and deliver Moral Values lessons aligned with the schools vision and expectations for students.
      5. As requested provide advice at disciplinary committees and consultations on students’ background and issues related to the respective disciplinary matter.
      6. Provide a range of professional development training (counselling and human social services) for teachers and student leaders.
      7. Actively contribute to corporate and Ministry requirements, including planning, budget, human resource and school activities.
